Grandpa Newel- the little details

My sweet grandpa Newel passed away last week, and as with the death of every loved one, it was a sad time. Thank you to everyone who have been so kind to me and my family, your sympathies are greatly appreciated. I had a very sweet experience when I went over to there apartment that morning. I walked into their extra room and saw my grandpa's pants folded over his chair and his shoes paired together on the floor underneath the chair, just as my grandpa had left them the night before. I smiled and teared up at the same time, because that little scene described my grandpa to a tee; always ready to go to work for the Lord. My Grandpa was a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully and lovingly his whole life to bring peace and happiness to the world by following the example of Jesus Christ. I called Skyler and asked him to bring me my camera and then for the next half hour or so, I photographed (while sniffling) the little details that are so my grandpa.

Skyler and I loved my grandpa so much. He sealed us in the Salt Lake Temple when we were married over  a year and a half ago. He was a well of spiritual knowledge and his kindness was endless. We miss him greatly, but are comforted by the knowledge that we will see him again.

I have a favorite picture of me and my grandpa at my baptism, I'll have to find that and scan it. It would be the perfect ending to this post.

I had no idea.. I am sorry to hear about your grandpa. I only saw him once at your wedding, but he did a wonderful job and your sealing was amazing!
